Aerospace Education

Aerospace Education is one of the three mission elements of CAP, the other two being Cadet Programs and Emergency Services.  The mission of AE is to educate, inspire, and instill an appreciation for and an understanding of aerospace in today and tomorrow’s world.  We promote aerospace to our members and the general public.

The Timmerman Composite Squadron promotes a strong AE program through regular classroom educational sessions and special projects.  Cadets under the age of 18 can expect to participate in orientation flights where they will learn the basics of flight and take control of a CAP aircraft.  The Timmerman Composite Squadron also takes field trips to AE related destinations.  In the past they have toured the Coast Guard station in Milwaukee, Cessna’s Milwaukee service center, the Mitchell International Airport control tower, and flown on a KC-135 Stratotanker with the 128th Air Refueling Wing.
