Timmerman Participates in Badger Trails Event

Sometimes we all need a break! And that’s just what 11 members of the Timmerman Composite Squadron got when they took a “just for fun” camping trip to Devil’s Lake from October 4-6, 2013. The weekend was a time for the members to build friendships and enjoy the out of doors.

Timmerman received an invitation from the Waukesha Composite Squadron to participate in the Devil’s Lake 50th Anniversary Hike hosted by Badger Trails. Badger Trails is a non-profit organization that promotes hiking on historic trails in Wisconsin. Hampered by rain, the hike was re-routed from trails that skirted the Devil’s Lake bluffs to a trail through safer, forested terrain. Timmerman completed the 6.4 mile long trek in about three hours.

Participants also camped in tents, fished, and cooked in dutch ovens over hot coals. The weekend was enjoyed by all and the squadron is already looking forward to participating in the event next year.
